Around Bitter Root, folks love to cheer for their team on a Saturday afternoon, and the rivalry between Clemson and Carolina has long been fiercely contested across the generations. Some of my family show up for the game in Garnet & Black, while their nearest and dearest are sporting Clemson orange. While we might be a house divided when it comes to football, when the ref blows the final whistle, we're all reaching across one another for more barbecue, baked beans, and peach cobbler.
The best rivalries end with full plates, a little trash talk, and plans to do it all again next weekend.
